
He recently sent out 35 letters to property owners notifying them that the condition of their buildings or grounds violated Clarksville’s zoning ordinance. In other business Jones said he continues to work with the town’s lawyers on a solution to address the problem of dilapidated houses and buildings around Clarksville. The alternative, though not ideal, is to bid the project in phases. Jones said he is working with the Southside Planning District Commission to secure additional grant funding to carry out the work.

McCormack and the team at Waukeshaw Development Company returned to the drawing board and returned to the town with a new plan, one that calls for 40 one-bedroom, market-rate apartments and retail space on the ground level facing Virginia Avenue.

In 2015, McCormack approached the town with a plan to redevelop the old tobacco warehouse on Virginia Avenue into a mixed use facility with living and retail spaces.
